Smith College is one of the largest women's colleges in the United States. There are approximately 2,400 undergraduates on the 150 acre campus. In recent years, Smith College has made significant strides in upgrading their aging campus infrastructure, including optimization and overhaul of their existing chillers.
The Chill water plant is a 4,000 ton plant with the following chillers:
3 - Trane 700 ton centrifugals 1 - York 800 ton steam absorber
1 - York 200 ton steam absorber 1 - York 1000 ton screw chiller
The chiller plant serves 27 buildings, about 1.28 million square feet. There are about 110 buildings on campus and most are connected to our Building Automation system.
Tour begins at Smith College at 5:00 p.m.
